How much fun can a Teddy bear?

“Boy oh Boy! The last of my New Zealand Cruise photo albums.”

Yes, Stiffy and Wee Bear had a very busy last few days… They will have to hibernate for a long time to get over all the activity and excitement. Very long walks, stuffing themselves at the giant buffet, watching some amazing shows and dancing the night away!!!

Amazing! How can a train drive on the road?

Gosh, we are really getting a wiggle on. This week, Stiffy and Wee Bear’s photo album takes you to Wellington and Napier. The little teddies were overly excited about seeing the working sheep farm… but not as thrilled as when Stiffy Bear caught sight of a steam train driving right up the main street in Napier? “Boy oh Boy!” he shouted. What is a London Bus doing here?

Before you knew it, the Sea Princess had made its way to the next little port. Stiffy Bear and Wee Bear especially picked these photos to share with you. This was a real treat for the teddies, as riding in a bright red double-decker bus was almost as good as a steam train ride. Remember, you can talk to him about all his adventures at:

At the end of  2018, Stiffy the Bear, his friend Wee Bear and his Mummy and Daddy went on a cruise to New Zealand on the Sea Princess. The little teddies had caught the cruising bug since their last trip to North Queensland.

The New Year’s Eve voyage lasted two weeks and was their third ocean cruise. The little furry pair had become quite the celebrities with the other passengers. Everyone wanted a photo with them, including the ship’s Captain, as you will soon see in his next photo album.

Here is the first album of their holiday photos. Stiffy Bear hopes you enjoy sharing these adventures with him. Remember, you can email him at…  stiffy@stiffythebear.com or you can be friends with him on twitter and facebook as well!

28th July 2018 – The last miles…

Stiffy Bear is back with more stories about his cruise up the Queensland Coast…

After Port Douglas, we are basically on our way home!

One more stop… and this has got to be the smallest inhabited island. Willis Island is 450 kilometres east of Cairns. It is 500 metres long and only 150 metres wide.

Look at how little it is!

From here we just have a couple of days to go. But first mummy got to be a finalist in “The Voice of the Ocean” competition. Boy oh Boy! She looks a little bit scared…

She looks a lot happier afterwards.

On our last night, we got to go to the balloon drop. Wow! That was so much fun. Hundreds of balloons and we got to jump on them and bust them!

Last day and here we go back under the Gateway Bridge and back to Brisbane. What fun!!!! Can’t wait to do that again…………….

30th June 2018 – Where is the bear… and who is Douglas?

Stiffy Bear is back with more stories about his cruise up the Queensland Coast…

Next port – Port Douglas! It was a beautiful day… first thing most of us did was go straight to the beach. There was a special area you had to swim in to make sure you didn’t get stung by any jellyfish. The man at the beach told me they can really hurt.

The beach was really wide and it didn’t have waves like we are used to at Coolangatta. It was really hot though, so everyone went for a swim to cool off.

The next thing we did was go on a steam train ride. Here is a picture of the man turning the train around so it can go the other way. They have to do this at each end. This is the Ballyhooley Steam Railway. It goes from the Marina to St Crispin’s Station.

My daddy looks like he is going to drive! I hope he has a train driving licence…

It sure is a pretty place at the other end.

The lady told us that there is a little crocodile in the lake. He got washed in during the floods and his name is “Snappy”

Anyway, we had a lovely time… and here comes our train to take us back to the Marina.

We were on our way back to the ship, when suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a little Teddy.

His name is Douglas and he is my new friend. He is a world traveller and so he decided to come with us back to the ship.

23rd June 2018 – Ted Cruise???

Stiffy Bear… or Ted Cruise as he now calls himself, is back with more stories about his cruise up the Queensland Coast.

Next port – Cairns! It was Anzac Day when we pulled into port so there were some different things going on.

See how high up we are on the ship. It is a long way down to the water. We just have to walk off the ship here, so we won’t have to catch the little boats. I think Stiffy Bear was a little disappointed about that!

The chefs also made a special cake to celebrate Anzac Day and made Anzac Biscuits for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunately, a couple of little furry paws have removed some icing and made New Zealand disappear from the cake. Naughty Bears!

The weather was perfect again and so we went for a walk into town. It was great to see such a turn out for the Anzac Day service.

It sure is a pretty town, and the lagoon was a special favourite of the bears. It was a public holiday, so there were plenty of children about to make a fuss of the bears. They were a real hit!

16th June 2018 – Teddy bears running around at Airlie Beach?

Finally, Stiffy Bear arrived in Airlie Beach.

The Sea Princess is definitely a great way to get there. We all loved the boat trip from our ship to the harbour. Here is Stiffy Bear’s mummy enjoying the ride with one of the dancers from the shows.

There are lots of things to do here, but Stiffy Bear and Wee Bear just wanted to play at the lagoon. This is a great big area where a lot of families gather to enjoy themselves. They  just played around the baby pool, but there is a great big pool for bigger kids and grown ups.

The weather was perfect and the little bears made lots of friends… even the lifeguard wanted to get in on the photos! Stiffy Bear’s daddy gave the man a copy of my book to take home to his kids.

Next time we visit we will have to make a trip to some of the islands. That’s the thing about cruises, you get to see enough to know whether you want to go back. Airlie Beach is definitely a place to go back to.
